Is cooking wine considered an alcohol?

i am strongly against drinking smoking drugs ect. so i decided to go straight edge and i am very serious about it. my mom is making beef stew to night and she adds cooking wine to it. am i allowed to have cooking wine or does that count as alcohol too? please dont tell me to chill out cus this is how i feel about it. all i want to know it if it counts as an alcohol.
