What colour shoes & accessories?

My school is doing a production of Grease and I am in it. For the prom scene I have a cream strapless dress with a rose in the middle, it comes to just above the knee. Anyway I need plimsolls but I don't know what colour? I was thinking black because I have a black crochet cardigan and a black bracelet. A friend of mine said I would need white plimsolls but I tried a white crochet cardigan with it but it didn't look right and neither did my mum. Plz help :)
