Urinary incontinence in a 20yr old female?

I am 20 years old, never had any kids and I am ually active with my husband. I have been experiencing urinary incontinence for the past few years. It has gotten steadily worse over time. The odd thing is not a constant problem and I only just recently put together that my times of incontinence coincide with my menstrual cycle. Around and on my period I begin leaking urine, just sitting or standing I will leak a considerable amount without realizing it. I also leak urine if I laugh, cough, sneeze or breathe too deeply. There has been one occasion where I lost all bladder control and involuntarily emptied my bladder. When I get home everyday my underwear is soaked with urine, and I have been forced to wear a bladder control pad to avoid buying new underwear. This has become very embarring and irritating. Is there any link between a womans period and incontinence? and is there anything I can do to stop it from happening? I am only 20 and shudder to think I will have to deal with this all of my life. I plan on talking to my doctor next year about it, but until then I need to find some kind of solution.
